OUR
COMMON AREAS
In addition to the marvellous bedrooms
the Palazzo has some enchanting common areas,
finely and artistically furnished.
In these areas you can relax
reading one of the numerous books on art and architecture
made available to you in the tea room.
Or you can relax and have fun with your friends playing on a splendid 1950s billiard table in the room dedicated to it.
The votive chapel is also certainly noteworthy, with its typical Neapolitan Baroque altar dedicated to St Joseph with child.
The polychrome marble inlay of the altar is exquisite.
Palazzo Doria Napoli
All the common rooms are furnished with pieces from the 18th and 19th centuries in Neapolitan style, carefully restored with gilded stucco and silk from San Leucio, finely crafted Persian carpets and very elegant chandeliers in blown Murano glass.
The decorations, doors and frescoes have all been restored to give the environment back its lost and well-deserved splendour.
Other gems are revealed to the visitor's eye, such as the 19th century enamelled glass money box and a 1911 gas meter. But there are many valuable objects that are discovered as you walk through the halls of the building.
Each room is furnished in a style typical of the period, with valuable antiques finely restored by excellent craftsmen who still work in Naples today.
On the second floor, the common entrance hall is dominated by a monumental marble table, surmounted by a splendid Lucca chandelier, made of crystal, gilded wood and metal and embellished with brass. On the walls, you can admire 18th-century tempera on paper depicting Grand Tour landscapes and archaeological finds.
